Spunti per la discussione in classe di oggi: usate facebook, msn,sms, skype, email per comunicare? quanto tempo passate davanti al computer (escludendo i momenti in cui state studiando)? riuscireste ad immaginare la vostra vita senza cellulare e laptop?in che maniera le conversazioni virtuali stanno sostituendo quelle reali? quali sono i lati positivi e i lati negativi dell'evoluzione del nostro concetto di comunicare?

Oggi parliamo di cucina italiana!
Uno degli aspetti che rende famosa l'Italia nel mondo e' sicuramente la cucina...
Quindi questa settimana parliamo anche di cibo italiano :)

Idee per il primo Post
Per chi di voi volesse iniziare ad usare il blog... Ecco un`idea per il primo post: una breve presentazione di poche righe in italiano, naturalmente; se volete potete mettere anche una foto che vi piace (seguite le mie istruzioni sotto). Sentitevi liberi di aggiungere qualsiasi cosa e NON PREOCCUPATEVI SE IL VOSTRO ITALIANO NON E` PERFETTO... SIAMO QUI PER IMPARARE!

Conversare in italiano non significa solo parlare!
Tra due anni molti di voi passeranno un semestre o un intero anno in Italia. Non ci sono solo regole grammaticali, lessico e sintassi da tenere a mente. L'italiano più che di parole è fatto di espressioni e di gesti che rendono gli italiani quasi dei ballerini quando parlano.

False Friends / Falsi Amici
Domani parleremo un po' dei FALSE FRIENDS, quelle parole cioè che hanno un suono o una grafia simile in italiano e in inglese ma significati diversi. Ecco cos'è successo a Gordon in Italia:

Privacy, Plagiarism ...
Some of you may be wondering why we're not working on Blackboard, which is the tool you've been using up now.
We're not working on BLACKBOARD for different reasons: first, I am not able to use it well and I haven't had the possibility to work on it yet; second, I think that blogger is really user-friendly (and it seems easier than a normal blog); third, I want you to explore different tools which may be useful for your language learning... and you will be able to use them outside university learning environment.
Therefore, BE CAREFUL to what you decide to write... feel free to write whatever you want (in italian!!!) but please remember that anyone can read what you write. I assure you that blogging can be an wonderful way to improve your Italian but... it could be a double-edged sword if you don't use it properly. So, don't post anything harmful and don't post plagiarised things without putting your sources (the same must be said for images and videos). Since you are NOT FORCED to do anything it would be quite useless to post something plagiarised.

HOW TO CREATE A BLOG! (in English!)
This post is about creating a blog. I assure you it is really easy (if I can do it, you'll be able to do it as well!).

If you have some problems in watching the video or if you prefer following my written guide... here it is:
1. Go to www.blogger.com . If you already have a blogger account, just type your username and password. Then click SIGN IN. If you don't have a blogger account, that's fine! All you have to do is clicking on CREATE YOUR BLOG NOW! Then, you will fill the form and create your account. You can use any e-mail address (I think also a fake one is ok but I would suggest you to use a real one in order to recover your password). I recommend you to write down your username and password!!! DO IT NOW!! Then click continue!
2. You will be required to choose a name for your blog and an address. Please, be creative! Then click continue and choose a template for your blog! Do not spend too much time on this because you can change the template later.
3. Now your blog is ready to use! Click on START POSTING and ... good blogging!

It's quite easy. You should go on the post section or click directly on the NEW POST button and type your text then click on publish. Fill in a title for your first post.
How can I edit what I've written?

Highlight the text you want to be a link. Then choose the chain link button. Type in the Web address you want to link to.
How can I add a photograph within my post?
The only thing you have to do is clicking on the image icon in the post editor toolbar. A window will appear asking you if you want to upload an image from the internet or from your computer. Make your choice. IF YOU CHOOSE TO UPLOAD AN IMAGE FROM THE INTERNET PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT YOUR SOURCE. Select the image and "upload".

How can I leave a comment to Silvia?
You'll find a "comments" link at the end of each post I write on my blog. Just clik there and go to the comments page. You will see LEAVE YOUR COMMENT on the top of the page and three options on the back:
1. your blogger username
2. another ID
3. anonymous
Choose one (the1st one!!) and enter your text.
ATTENZIONE!!! I WILL BE WRITING IN ENGLISH ONLY FOR SOMETHING RELATED TO BLOG CREATION. FEEL FREE TO WRITE ME ANY EMAIL ON THIS SUBJECT IN ENGLISH AND I WILL ANSWER YOU IN ENGLISH AS WELL.

Ciao a tutti e buon anno!
Questo blog è destinato agli studenti del corso IT1001 (Advanced Italian I). Qui troverete tutti i materiali per le lezioni di conversazione e qualche approfondimento. Sentitevi liberi di commentare o di scrivermi e-mails con suggerimenti e impressioni. Il blog è ancora in fase di costruzione, ma volevo che fosse pronto per domani (la prima lezione) quindi portate pazienza se non è così carino!
